1. Who we are

Teens Watch Centre (TWC) (“we”, “us”) is a Kenyan non-governmental organisation providing health, psychosocial, livelihood and rights-based services. This policy explains how we collect and use personal data through our website and related enquiry channels, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and applicable regulations.

2. Data we collect

  • Identity & contact data you submit (name, email, phone) via contact, volunteer, partnership or donation forms.
  • Enquiry content you choose to share (messages, organisation details, skills, availability).
  • Donation intent data such as amount, currency, frequency and program designation (payment processing providers may collect additional financial data under their own policies).
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, collected automatically for security and basic analytics.

We do not ask website visitors for medical records, HIV status or other sensitive health data through public web forms. Service-related health data is handled only through clinical pathways with appropriate consent and confidentiality safeguards.

4. Child protection & sensitive content

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this website without appropriate guardian involvement. We do not publish identifiable images of minors without documented consent. Beneficiaries’ stories are anonymized or published only with informed consent.

5. Sharing

We may share data only when necessary with:

  • Service providers who host email, forms, analytics or payments under contract
  • Professional advisors (legal, audit) under confidentiality
  • Authorities when required by Kenyan law or to protect rights and safety

We do not sell personal data.

6. Retention & security

We retain enquiry and donation records only as long as needed for the purposes above and applicable legal/audit requirements, then delete or anonymize them. We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data; no method of transmission over the internet is fully secure.
